Do Food Good: sustainability at the core of Crop's strategy
At Crop's, sustainability is fully imbedded in our business strategy. Through our Do Food Good purpose, we have integrated our sustainability ambitions directly into the way we operate and grow. This deliberate approach ensures that sustainability is not treated as a separate program, but as a fundamental part of our corporate positioning and long-term vision.
Our sustainability actions are structured around four strategic pillars, each addressing a key part of our value chain:
Grow better
Preserve better
Advise better
Innovate better
Throughout the entire value chain, sustainability is part of every decision we make. By aligning clear priorities with strong internal engagement, we are building a future-ready business that creates value for our customers, farmers, partners, employees, communities and environment.
Crop's sustainability report:
ensuring stability in a changing food system
In a context where availability, quality and consistency are increasingly under pressure, Crop’s focuses on building a more stable and well-structured food chain.
Its sustainability report shows how careful planning, collaboration and timing play a key role in maintaining quality while reducing inefficiencies across the system. By working across different regions and partners, Crop’s ensures continuity and reliability, while continuously improving how resources are used. This approach supports a more balanced and future-proof food supply chain.
Our sustainability journey in Morocco
Nestled between the Atlas Mountains and the Atlantic coast, Morocco is a land of vibrant agriculture—but also of pressing challenges. Water scarcity and shifting climate patterns make farming here more complex than ever. For us, these realities are a call to act responsibly and sustainably.
- Smart water management: We’ve introduced advanced irrigation systems and water-saving techniques to protect this vital resource.
- Responsible farming practices: By optimising farming practices, we ensure long-term productivity without harming the environment. This includes Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and recycling programs.
- Sustainable partnerships: We work closely with local farmers and communities, sharing knowledge and building solutions that create lasting benefits.
Passion for nature
Nature's generosity shouldn't be taken for granted. We work hard on minimising our environmental impact on two levels: farming and processing. Our farmers and agronomists work with the FSA-tool (Farm Sustainability Assessment) in order to continuously improve the farming processes. When it comes to processing fruit in our factories, we are on the way towards maximising renewable energy, maximum water circularity (also in the fields), reducing waste, as well as gaining full insight into our carbon footprint. Currently, scope 3 emissions have been calculated, next to scope 1 and 2.
Passion for people
People mean the world to us. That's why we make sure that in the places where we grow our fruit, we also grow and support the local communities. We focus on the occupational safety and health of our employees, providing care, facilities, and trainings for smooth onboarding and personal growth. In our locations of Larache, Morocco and Pozega, Serbia, we have developed healthcare initiatives and educational campaigns and programmes.
Passion for quality
100% transparency and traceability is how we deliver on the promise of the highest quality. Thanks to strict health and hygiene protocols and a triple-testing strategy, we reduce the presence of pathogenic bacteria to zero. All our fruit is fully traceable, coming from our own or co-managed fields and factories. This ensures not only steady and top quality, but also enable a full transparency towards the end consumers.
